Council makes the difficult decision to not open the outdoor rink
After a lengthy discussion and very careful consideration of the new COVID-19 restrictions put in place by the Province yesterday, Council made the heart wrenching decision to not flood the outdoor rink at this time.
We know that some of you will not be happy with this decision, but please keep in mind there is no rule book that comes with this pandemic. Council's main priority right now is the health and safety of our residents and this was in the forefront of the discussion.
Once the four weeks of the new restrictions comes to an end, the decision will be revisited and depending on the situation with the number of positive cases, the outdoor rink may be opened at that time.
We do ask for understanding as we all try to get through this unprecedented time with everyone healthy on the other side of this pandemic.
