Delburne Council Waives Utility Penalties

Delburne Village Council made a motion at a special meeting on Wednesday, March 25th to waive late penalties on utility bills for the remainder of the year as an economic measure in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Residential and commercial customers will not be fined for late payments nor will overdue accounts be transferred to taxes.
“In light of everything that is going on, the least that Council can do at this time is to forgive penalties,” says Mayor Bill Chandler.
As for other economic measures to assist residents and businesses, Mayor Chandler stated, “We are working with the Provincial government on other relief programs.”
