Pursuant to section 4.0 d) of the Village of Delburne Fire Services Bylaw No. 1133/2017, the Village of Delburne directs that, further notice:

 

a.    As of 10:00 am, May 29, 2023, the fire ban order issued on May 1, 2023 for the Village of Delburne has been lifted.

b.    All outdoor fires presently burning within the Village of Delburne whether set with permission or under permit of Red Deer County, will remain valid for the duration of the permit, and

c.     The ignition of all new outdoor fires within the boundaries of the Village of Delburne are hereby prohibited, and

d.    No new fire permits will be issued until further notice.

 

This fire restriction DOES NOT apply to:

 

a.    Fires, which are contained within cooking and heating appliances and which are fueled by fluids, gases, or wood pellets.

b.    Fires contained within industrial facilities for operational purposes.

c.     Safe acceptable residential fire pits* and enclosed incinerators.

d.    Approved Gas/Propane fueled fire pits*/stoves/barbecues.

e.    Catalytic or infrared-style heaters.

 

This order comes into effect at 10:00 M.S.T. on the 29th day of May 2023 at the Village of Delburne, in the Province of Alberta.

 

*Safe acceptable residential fire pits -

a. A minimum of 3 meters clearance, measured from the nearest fire pit edge to the nearest edge of building, property line, or other combustible material;

b. A height not exceeding 0.6 meters when measured from the surrounding grade to the top of the pit opening;

c. Equipped with a mesh screen with opening no larger than 12.5mm;

d. Enclosed sides made form bricks, concrete blocks, heavy gauge metal, or other non-combustible materials; and

e. Not located over any underground utilities or under any above ground wires.

 

Any person violating conditions of this order may be held liable for any damages and/or costs associated with extinguishing the fire and full prosecution with penalties, in accordance with the Village of Delburne Fire Services Bylaw No. 1133/2017 and the Forest Prairie Protection Act RSA.
