Fire Restriction reduced to Fire Advisory
Red Deer County manages Fire Services for the Village of Delburne
May 2, 2024
Pursuant to section 4.1 d) of the Red Deer County FIRE SERVICES BYLAW 2012/14, I Drayton Bussiere, Fire Chief for Red Deer County, do hereby direct that, until further notice:
- a. The Fire Restriction ordered on April 19, 2024, is reduced to a Fire Advisory
- b. Fire Permits will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and only one day permits will be issued.
Individuals conducting open burns are advised to use extreme caution and continuously monitor conditions.
This fire advisory comes into effect at 11:00 M.S.T. on the 2nd day of May 2024 at Red Deer County, in the Province of Alberta.
Residents are reminded that residential fire pits and any burn operations must comply with Red Deer County Fire Services Bylaw 2012/14.
Off-Highway Vehicles can start wildfires - check frequently to ensure hotspots are free of debris, and make sure mufflers and spark arrestors are working properly.
Any person violating conditions of this advisory may be held liable for any damages and/or costs associated with extinguishing the fire and full prosecution with penalties, in accordance with Red Deer County FIRE SERVICES BYLAW 2012/14 and/or the Forest Prairie Protection Act RSA.
